As you might already know, the next PokerFest Romania stage will take place in Bucharest, between May 6th and May 12th.
The festival will be hosted by Howard Johnson Hotel and Queen Casino. You will have a 1.000€ Main Event that will most probably surpass a prizepool of 250.000€, played in a very generous structure with 30.000 chips as starting stack and 60 minute levels, with two starting days and a Second Chance option just in case you bust early. Also, there will be three very interesting side-events and a Eureka supersatellite.
Besides that, you will find a series of events that will make your trip to Bucharest one of the most interesting and enjoyable in recent times.
Profitable cash games with acceptable stakes
During PokerFest Bucharest, Queen Casino, placed inside the Howard Johnson Plaza, will be hosting poker cash games, both No Limit Texas Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha. The stakes start with 2€/4€ and go up to 10€/20€ or even more, if there are any high rollers around.
Usually, cash tables are populated with local business men in search for the thrill, recreational players that will hunt down adrenaline shots, not profits, always willing to play a hand chasing for one lucky card.
The pleasant ambiance and very polite employees in Queen Casino will transform your visit into a very relaxing moment, and if you’re feeling tired of Hold’em and poker, you can always try your luck at the numerous blackjack tables, the popular roulettes, or the jackpot slot machines.
Also, casino clients are welcomed to take advantage of a free buffet, with a large variety of cuisine specialties.
Five star accommodation with preferential room prices
As it was the case in the past, Howard Johnson Plaza offers special room prices for PokerFest’s players during our festival. A single or double standard room costs just 80 EUR/night (meaning that if you have a room partner, you pay only 40 EUR/night), and a junior suite has a price of 130 EUR/night.
Free transportation airport-hotel-airport
Our guests can also take advantage of free transportation from the airport to the Howard Johnson Plaza and return (arrival, departure). You just have to send an e-mail to support@pokerfest.ro with at least 24 hours prior to the arrival, where you have to mention the date and time of the arrival, your name (so we know who to look for), your flight ID and the landing airport (Bucharest has two airports, Otopeni and Baneasa).
Visit Bucharest, it’s worth it!
PokerFest is a very good reason to come to Romania for some big, juicy poker action, but can also be a reason to visit Bucharest, one of the most vibrant, diverse and interesting cities in Eastern Europe. Also called “Little Paris”, Bucharest is rediscovering its cultural identity, in a rare combination between the romance of the ages and the unconventional modern times.
Regardless your style, you will always find something to like in Bucharest. If you like outdoors, the central parks are the most beautiful place in spring, all green and alive, with a relaxing fresh air. The historic center offers you places to fully enjoy a coffee, a lemonade or a tasteful meal. Nights can be very memorable, with dozens of high-life pubs and clubs, concerts or even sports events.
Bucharest is also a place for history, with unique European attractions, including 30-40 museums and memorial houses, including The National History Museum, The Romanian Peasant Museum, The Romanian Railways Museum or the Grigore Antipa National Natural Museum. Also, you can admire some of the most astonishing architectural buildings, like the Palace of The Parliament, the world’s largest civilian building, or The Romanian Athenaeum, The Cantacuzino Palace or the Arch Of Triumph.
Our recommendations are to visit „The Human Body” in Antipa museum, a fascinating and controversial exposition that impressed millions of people across Europe. Also, visit two other museums, like the Peasants Museum and the National History Museum, take some time to go out shopping in some of the most popular commercial places like Plaza Romania or Bucharest Mall (where you will also find Hollywood Multiplex, one of the most impressive cinematographs in Eastern Europe). And if you intend to stay in Romania two or three days after PokerFest, don’t miss the Depeche Mode mega-concert in May 15th.
